Here at Rossi Consulting, we want your company to be the best it can be. We also want our company to be the best it can be, which is why we sit down whenever the opportunity arises to map out where we’ve come from, and where we’re going as a company.
Leap Days are a great time to do this. The reason why is because, unlike every other day on the Calendar, they only come around every so often. Here’s what we’ve done this year to plan our best year yet. You should too.
Last Leap Day
First of all, if you really want to get a sense of how time really works, then you need to look backwards in time. The past four years probably seem like they’ve gone by in a blur. If you have a journal from that period, go and grab it. If not, use your memory to go back and really take into consideration everything that has changed.
We’re guessing that unless you’ve sat on your sofa doing nothing for the last four years, a lot has changed. In fact, so much has probably changed that you and your business would be unrecognizable to the guy you were four years ago.
Thinking of the Future
You might have changed a lot in the past four years, but now it’s time to look at something even more dramatic: Where you could be in four years’ time with the right amount of dedication and forethought.
Where do you want to be n four years’ time? Where do you want your business to be on the next February 29th? Maybe you want to have retired by then. Maybe you’ll just be entering your peak.
Whatever your goal, take a few moments to really help it sink in and fix itself in your mind.
How to Combine Past and Present
Unfortunately, we can’t just skip from the present to the future. Even if you could, would you want to miss out on those memories? Probably not.
What you can do today though is make a commitment to the future. You can start to set in motion the plans that you’ve only imagined until now. Leap years show us that life is a cycle, and it’s composed of the same thing happening day in and day out until big changes happen.
Start those small steps today and in four years’ time, you’ll be amazed at how many steps you’ve taken, and how far they’ve gotten you.
We’re not going to try and do the hard sell here. We think that you can achieve a lot more than you’re currently doing, and if you’ve honestly gone through these exercises, then you know that you can too.
We want to help you with your construction business, and our door is open for anyone reading this who would like to take their business to the next level. We’ll be waiting.
